Can waking up full of energy, being a morning person sound like a myth to you? Well, it does to many people. Hating your alarm clock more than anything, pulling those covers off of you and going to wash your face. If all these things seem the toughest job on earth, then you definitely need to read the whole article!
Let’s discuss two issues why you may have problems sleeping.
If you drink alcohol, if you smoke cigarettes, or if you use caffeine in your daily diet, let me tell you these things can severely disrupt your sleep. Eating big and spicy meals can cause indigestion which can make it hard for you to sleep on time. If possible, avoid taking large meals 3-4 hours before your bedtime. you may take a light snack 45 minutes before going to sleep.
Before you goto sleep, spend the last hour on bed, doing a simple relaxing activity like reading. This is because your body needs time to shift to sleeping mode. For some people, using an electronic device such as a laptop can make it hard to fall asleep, because the particular type of light emanating from the screens of these devices is activating to the brain. If you have trouble sleeping, avoid using electronic gadgets before going to bed or in the middle of the night.
So well let’s discuss the ways you can make yourself more productive and energetic when you wake up
Step number one: ditch the damn snooze!
Do you ever just keep your alarm at snooze so that you can spare that ten minutes sleep? Well yes! Return back to that wonderland where your alarm pulled you out from. Only to return back ten minutes later? Until that little mechanic sleep enemy of yours shouts back for you?
The point is, the ten minutes sleep that you think is refreshing, is actually not as good as you think. It’s just going to tease you my dear. So wake up on the first call, else you will keep cursing alarm clocks for nothing.
P.S Read my previous article to know how you can help yourself wake up without an alarm clock with a good sleep.
Step two: waking up means leaving your bed!
The first thing I used to do when I’d wake up was go through my social media and check my news feed. Read messages that I missed overnight. Well, the longer you take to get out of bed? The longer you’d want to stay there.
So step two means leave the bed! Get out of covers else trust me your bed will have the strength of magnets and you will turn into an iron rod. The longer you stay there the lazier you’ll feel. How about this? Go through your mobile while you are at the kitchen table?
Step three: Do a favor on your body, start your day by drinking atleast 17oz of water after waking up.
Well ofcourse! as a simple logical explanation, water fires up your metabolism and helps your body flush out toxins. But think about it this way, we know water acts like a fuel to our body. Without water our body can’t work. Imagine not drinking water for upto 8 hours. That’s exactly what you do everytime you go to sleep. Your body gets dehydrated, so if you make it a habit to drink a glass of water everyday after waking up? You will see the changes in your body yourself!
Step four: Rush to the cup filled with energy!
I have earlier mentioned in my article Three productivity food you should add to your diet today about caffeine. Do give it a read to clear your concept about it.
Step five: Have an exciting plan for the day.
I remember when I was a school girl I’d be really sleepy everyday but not on the day I had a party in school. I would always wake up before the alarm with excitement because I’d have a chance to go to school all dressed up and have fun rather than going in the same boring school uniform with a heavy bag filled with books. Having a plan for the day would really help you boost your energy. You would be determined to begin your day and be passionate about it. Trust me, spend your day with interesting activities for yourself so that you would want to live the next day without wasting time on bed cursing your alarm.
I hope my articles helped you get a more productive day and a peaceful sleep.
