After setting up a huge customer base in the Indian Telecom Market, beating state-run telecom companies like BSNL, MTNL, etc. as well as some private owned giant sectors like Vodafone, Idea; Jio is ready for the launch of its Jio Fibre Fixed Line Broadband Services. The company is offering preview plans with free data to its fiber to the home users as reported from Last May in the selected number of cities. They have been testing this new technology within regions like Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jamnagar, Mumbai and few parts of New Delhi as well.
According to the sources from the company, the new initial plan being offered by Jio Fibre includes 100GB of free data per month at 100Mbps speed. Once this limit is being exhausted customers can avail 40GB of free data by top-ups, can be done till maximum frequency of 25 times in a month, thus enabling roughly 1.1TB of free data. The remaining 1TB of data will be made available at the same 100Mbps speed is still a point of concern. Reliance Jio will be launching Jio Fibre services publically for both regular and corporate customers, eyeing around 150 million people across major cities in India.
A Jio Fibre connection can be availed at an interest-free security deposit of Rs. 4,500 which is refundable at the time of switching the current plans. In this package, they will install a Jio router, which can be used as a set-top box to enable TV channels via IPTV services which Jio is further going to launch in coming quarter. They told they have already laid down a route of 3 Lakh Kilometres of optical fiber across the country and that would enable rollout services at a very faster rate without interruption. As of now, Jio has the subscriber base of 186.6 million which is seen to be a very fast growth by any operator in the telecom sector.
