Good news for all the travelers as Indian Railways has got some exciting offer for us this year. Union Railway minister, Piyush Goyal himself tweeted this news on 11th of July that Indian Railways will be starting a new train ‘Shri Ramayana Express’ from November 2018 which will provide travelers with additional facilities unlike other trains. This train will be entirely devoted to Hindu pilgrimage as the destinations associated to the train belongs to places related to epics of Ramayana and Hindu Temples. The train will start from New Delhi to Ayodhya and various other destinations till it reaches Rameshwaram.
The entire journey will be of 16 days with additional packages for visiting few destinations in Sri Lanka also. To continue the journey after Rameshwaram, one needs to travel via flight from Chennai to Sri Lanka’s destinations like Negombo, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. But this package will charge extra from regular Indian destination package.
The train will have 800 seats and the entire trip will be managed by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Bookings can be made through websites across the country. The packages provided will include food, sightseeing provisions, travel, accommodation along with separate guide to look after.
