Defending Champions ONGC begin their run with a win at the 32nd Federation Cup in Chittoor

Bengaluru, 2nd May 2018: The 32nd Federation Cup is going on at the District Sports Authority in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh on 1st May. The best club/state teams from the top 8 states in both the Men’s and Women’s category with addition of the hosts Andhra Pradesh are participating in this 6 day long tournament.  The championship is being organised by the Basketball Association in Andhra Pradesh under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India.
First match of the day was a very competitive one between Indian Overseas Bank form Chennai taking it up against the Madras Sappers from Bangalore, this match saw a lot of fireworks as both the teams took it hard against each other. But the internationally experienced squad of IOB took away the game from MEG’s reach in the second half. Later in the day ONGC Dehradun was facing Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, their were a lot of expectations from this game as Vishesh Bhriguvanshi was hopeful to make a comeback after almost 6 months due to a knee injury. Bhriguvanshi entered the game in the third quarter and displayed some crisp passing but wasn’t able to score but the defending champions ONGC took an comfortable win over SAAP.
